Rooster's Crest is a geological reservation situated in Gutai Mountains of Maramures. The unique form of this unusual rock was given by an explosion of a vulcano, millions of years ago and, of course, by weather throughout time. As a nature monument Roster's Crest Reservation is a continuous attraction for mountain biking, hiking and rock-climbing, paragliding and many others outdoor activities. Moreover, the area is gifted with beech forests, dazzling peaks, lakes, alpine meadows and wildlife galore.

Tour Highlights:

Rooster's Crest Nature Reserve & Gutâi Peak.

Starting From Cluj-Napoca we are heading north 150 km to Baia Mare, the capital city of Maramures County. We spend here less than an hour for breakfast/coffee. After our short stop in Baia Mare we drive for another 20 km to Pintea's Inn. Here we leave the car in the parking and start our adventure through the forest to The Ox Glade. From this open area The Rooster's Crest is visible, but still away from us. After one more hour hiking we rich the top of it. From here, after half an hour rest, our adventure will continue with one hour trekking toward Gutâi Peak (1443 m).
